Mozambique Drill (Failure Drill)

Distance: 7 Yards
Target: 1 Silhouette Target
Type: Pistol
Why It Works

Also known as the "Failure to Stop" drill, it teaches the shooter to transition from a large target area (torso) to a smaller, more critical target (head) when the initial shots are assumed to be ineffective.

Setup and Run

1. Draw and fire 2 shots to the center mass (torso).

2. Pause slightly to assess (in training, this is often a rhythmic pause).

3. Fire 1 shot to the head (ocular cavity) of the target.

Full Details

Focus on the transition. The first two shots can be fast, but the third must be precise.
