1 Reload 2
Why It Works
This drill forces the shooter to manage recoil for a single shot, perform a critical manipulation (reload) under time pressure, and then re-acquire the target for a multi-shot string. It builds muscle memory for emergency reloads and reinforces the "eyes to the magwell" technique.
Setup and Run
1. Load two magazines: one with 1 round, one with 2+ rounds.
2. Insert the 1-round magazine and chamber the round.
3. On the timer, draw and fire 1 shot. The slide should lock back.
4. Perform a slide-lock reload using the second magazine.
5. Fire 2 shots at the target.
Full Details
The goal is to have the reload be as seamless as possible. Beginners should focus on doing the movements correctly, while advanced shooters should push for a reload time under 1.5 seconds.
